Keys was founded in 1953 by Geoffrey Key as a small livestock market that mainly sold poultry. In 1955, Key was joined by John Lines. Lines would develop the business to include weekly sales of furniture with periodic sales of antiques throughout the 60’s.

Roy Murphy joined the company in 1970 and began to establish other fine arts sales which included books, pictures and collectables. Murphy remains with the company to this day as a partner and ‘Fine Art Director’.

Since then, Keys have developed into one of the major fine art auctioneering companies, offering sales of antiques, fine art, commercial items and specialist products. The company still operates from the same five acre facility it was founded in, located in Aylsham, Norfolk.

In 2013, Keys Fine Art Auctioneers celebrated its 60th birthday, making them one of the longest-established regional auctioneers within East Anglia.
