Wilsons Auctions, Ireland and the UK’s largest family-owned auction company, has recently purchased a new 26-acre state of the art site which is located on the edge of Tallaght and Clondalkin.
The new site, the largest in the country, offers customers 80,000 sq ft of indoor facilities including an indoor vehicle showroom for over 100 vehicles, three heated auction halls and in-house catering facilities.
Wilsons Auctions’ Dublin branch has seen significant growth in recent years of vehicles being bought and sold. Selling vehicles on behalf of a diverse range of clients from major dealer groups and car supermarkets to government bodies and finance houses, the Dublin branch has been able to replicate the services they provide to similar clients in the UK, therefore enabling them to bring to auction a much better quality of product than would have been included in auctions in the Republic of Ireland in the past, which in turn is a major benefit to buyers.
Ricky Wilson, third generation of the Wilson family, brought Wilsons Auctions to Dublin over 15 years ago, making it is his mission to create a welcoming public auction centre for both trade and private buyers and the first choice of vehicle buyers and sellers of second-hand vehicle.
Vehicle sales have increased by 200% in the past two years alone, with record crowds at the twice-weekly auctions and vendors who may not have considered auctions in the past as a way to sell their used product.
Wilsons Auctions Sales Manager, Jason Delaney commented “A recent radio programme talked about the issues for a private buyer wishing to purchase a second-hand vehicle. If they go to the wrong vendor the car may still have finance on it or have had an insurance claim that they are not made aware of. Wilsons Auctions checks every vehicle for finance and insurance claims so when you are buying a car you can rest assured you will be the legal owner of the vehicle.
“Not only do we provide a service that customers can be confident in but we also make it an enjoyable place to be, with the friendly staff and the buzz of the live auctions people come back to experience a ‘Wilsons’ auction time and time again,” he added.
