Newline is a well-established auction software provider with a rich history in the UK’s agricultural and commercial auction sectors. Founded in 1983, the company quickly built a strong reputation for reliability and innovation. Its initial focus on livestock auctioneers expanded to include machinery sales by 2010, with notable installations such as Cheffins’ Cambridge auctions and its reach extended across Ireland, Northern Ireland and New Zealand.

Newline growth has been consistently fuelled by technological advancements. In 2014, the company partnered with Xcira to introduce simulcast bidding throughout the UK and Ireland, facilitating both in-person and online participation. This was followed in 2015 by the migration of all clients to a secure, cloud-hosted platform. International expansion continued with entry into the Canadian market in 2016, providing systems for all VJV Cattle Auctions sites. The 2020 launch of Auctionmarts.com further consolidated Newline digital capabilities, integrating online catalogues, live streaming and timed bidding.

In 2021, Newline was acquired by Jonas Software. This strategic acquisition provides enhanced support while preserving the company's brand identity and customer focus.
