Auction giant John Pye opens in Chesterfield

John Pye Auctions, the UK’s largest auction house network, started the first two sales at its new Chesterfield site last weekend with thousands of everyday household products up for grabs from top high street retailers.

The two sales went live online last Friday evening (1^st March), with the new site open for public viewing this week from Tuesday 5^th March between 10am and 2pm.

Customers can expect to save up to 75% off RRP across retail goods including home furnishings and appliances, a selection of bathroom suites and accessories, tech & gadgets and children’s toys in their thousands.

The new 233,000 sq. ft Chesterfield site is the second largest in the John Pye portfolio and opened due to the increase in supplier demand in the area and its ideal size and location.
Following the announcement of the site opening last December, more than 150 jobs will be created over the next few years for the Chesterfield auction house.
Heading up the team in Chesterfield will be site manager Lou Rodrigues, who joined the company in 2012 as an auction porter, before quickly being promoted to team leader and then site manager at John Pye’s auction house in Derby.

The national auctioneer, which celebrated its 50^th anniversary and a record-breaking trading year in 2018, has seen a growth in visitors to their online bidding platform, footfall across its UK auction showrooms, as well as an increase in stock volumes from the company’s high street retail clients.

As well as being crowned the UK’s asset valuer and auctioneer of the year for the last four years running at the UK’s Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency (TRI) Awards, John Pye expanded into the international market with the launch of its first online auction in the United Arab Emirates last December, the company also opened a new office in Birmingham at the start of this year to better serve the West Midlands region.

The company comprises of six trading departments; John Pye Property, John Pye Retail, John Pye Business Assets, John Pye Vehicles, John Pye Luxury and John Pye Technical.

The online sale went live Friday 1^st March with public viewing available on Tuesday 5^th March between 10am – 2pm. The auctions will end Thursday 7^th March from 12noon onwards.
