Following the announcement that bridal retailer Berketex has gone into administration, the John Pye Business Assets team has been appointed to deal with the valuation and disposal of over 20,000 unsold bridal gowns, plus hundreds of shoes and accessories.

Berketex Bride has been a bridal retailer and supplier for 50 years and the company ceased trading on 13^th November 2018 when insolvency practitioners Wilson Field were brought in to manage the administration process.

Over the last three weeks, John Pye Business Assets has been helping Berketex customers by reuniting them with dresses that they had paid for in full or made a deposit on before administration was announced.

The remaining wedding gowns will be going into a warehouse sale at John Pye’s facility in Port Talbot, South Wales, from 7^th December and every Friday and Saturday until further notice. The dresses, which are available for purchase to bridal retailers and members of the public, are in great condition and are the last unsold stock from Berketex Bride. Customers can expect to save up to 60% off RRP.

Designs include Emily Fox, Amy Hamilton, Rosetta Nicolini, Tom Flowers and Christina Sposa.

Trevor Palethorpe, national head of corporate valuations at John Pye, said: “We are expecting a great deal of interest in this sale due to the high-profile nature of this administration, so I would advise those interested to view and purchase early. There is an opportunity for brides to purchase a wedding gown at a fraction of the recommended retail price and walk away with it the same day.
“Now all of the dresses left are purely shop stock, this is the perfect opportunity to find a dress at a discounted price.”

The first sale will be held Friday 7^th December with public viewing available every Friday 12noon – 3pm and every Saturday 10am – 2pm every week until further notice. Customers can turn up to the viewing days and try on the dresses, purchase their items and walk away with them on the same day. A viewing will take place at the John Pye site, Kenfig Industrial Estate, Margam, Port Talbot, SA13 2PE.
