20th January 2026
As we move into 2026, it feels like a good time to reflect on the past year and share how we’re shaping the next phase of Auction News.
2025 marked a significant milestone for our Managing Director, Gemma, as she completed her first full year as sole director following the retirement of her parents, Steve and Alison, continuing the leadership of Auction News as it builds on more than 65 years of industry heritage. It’s been a full-on year of learning, reflection and gaining clearer strategic direction on where we are as a business and where we’re heading next.
Last year’s priorities were simple:
• To protect the heritage and reputation built over the last 65 years
• To strengthen the foundations of the business
• To ensure Auction News continues to offer real value to both auctioneers and buyers
• To personally get to know more of our auctioneers and valued customers
One of the most rewarding outcomes has been continuing to support our long-standing auctioneers while also welcoming new auctioneers on board. It’s been encouraging to see our ongoing investment in SEO, content and social activity translate into a stronger and more visible online presence for auctions across Auction News.
We also introduced our Auction Services Hub — a new area of the website designed to support the wider auction industry by bringing together trusted service providers that work alongside auctioneers.
As we move into the new year, our focus is very much on building on our strategic foundations:
For buyers, we’ll continue investing in our website and digital channels to improve the customer journey and make auctions easier to find and access.
For auctioneers, our priority remains the same: helping you promote your auctions effectively. That means improving how auctions are presented and promoted, developing tools that make promotion easier and continuing to offer a personalised, relationship-led service that recognises no two auctioneers are the same.
Alongside this, we’ll continue investing in our systems to allow our team to spend more time supporting our customers.
We’ll be sharing more insights, guidance and industry-led content throughout the year. We always welcome news, updates and stories from auctioneers who would like to be involved.
We’re really excited about what 2026 will bring for all of us. As always, we welcome conversations. If you’d like to discuss your plans for the year ahead or how we can support your business in 2026, please get in touch.
