Manor Park Classics, north-west’s leading fixed-venue auction house, expands to south with acquisition of Barons Auctioneers.
Manor Park Classics (MPC), the North-West’s leading fixed-venue classic vehicle auction house, has completed the acquisition of Barons Classic Car Auctioneers, a respected name in the industry since 1998. This strategic move marks the first step in MPC’s ambitious plan to expand across the UK.
Since launching in April 2021, MPC has rapidly gained a strong reputation among buyers and sellers for its high-quality auction process and exceptional sale rates, frequently exceeding 90%. Operating from a purpose-built 30,000 sq. ft facility in Runcorn, Cheshire, MPC attributes much of its success to its unique three-stage sales model, which includes extended pre-sale viewing, flexible bidding options (phone, online or in-person) and an open-ended post-sale negotiation process.
The acquisition of Barons, which operates from a dedicated auction venue in Marchwood on the edge of the New Forest, provides MPC with a solid foothold in southern England. Barons has built a loyal following with its monthly sales of classic cars and motorbikes, typically featuring 50 lots per auction.
MPC Chairman Stephen Ashworth welcomed the acquisition:
“I am thrilled to bring Barons Auctioneers into the Manor Park Classics family and to welcome Tony, Molly and their team. Barons’ established presence, coupled with our shared approach to classic vehicle auctions, makes this a perfect fit.
“We’re committed to enhancing Barons’ operations by integrating MPC’s expertise in digital marketing, social media and international bidding platforms, led by Paul Cowland.
“There will be no changes to the Barons team, and auctions will continue at their existing location in Marchwood. Additionally, buyers and sellers in the South will now benefit from our industry-leading three-stage sales process and unmatched service.
“This acquisition is just the beginning - we plan to establish four or five additional auction houses in key locations across the UK, ensuring more enthusiasts and collectors can access our trusted auction process and high sale success rates.”
Barons Director Tony Cavell shared his enthusiasm for the future:
“I am delighted to join Manor Park Classics and look forward to taking Barons Manor Park Classics Ltd. to new heights. Our shared business ethos and commitment to exceptional service make this a fantastic opportunity for all involved.”
