A new online auction platform is set to bring a different approach to retail liquidation sales, with Bid STOCS preparing to launch its first rolling auctions in August 2026.
Registration and the first lot previews for Bid STOCS (bid.stocs.com) will open next week (w/c 27 July), giving buyers early access to upcoming lots and the opportunity to review stock information before bidding begins.
Built specifically for liquidation and surplus retail stock, the platform has been designed to address some of the challenges traditionally associated with buying clearance inventory online. Each lot will be professionally graded, accurately described and photographed before appearing for auction, providing buyers with greater visibility and confidence when assessing potential purchases.
The initial auctions will feature individual retail return items, followed by curated box lots containing fully manifested stock. Buyers will be able to see exactly what is included within each box, alongside the genuine market value of the contents, before placing a bid. Only functional, tested items will be listed, removing much of the uncertainty often associated with liquidation purchases.
Bidding will begin in early August, with lots opening at £2 and selling with no reserve. Every purchase will feature a single all-in price, with no buyer’s premium added at checkout, while winning buyers will also benefit from a 14-day buyer protection policy. New stock will be released daily, with auctions closing on a rolling basis to ensure there is always new inventory becoming available.
The platform has been developed in response to feedback from buyers across the UK online auction market, where concerns have included inconsistent descriptions, ungraded or untested stock and additional fees appearing late in the purchasing process. By creating a consistent approach to grading, photography, manifests and pricing, Bid STOCS aims to make buying liquidation stock more straightforward and transparent.
STOCS, which also operates a wholesale pallet platform at bulk.stocs.com, was founded by Sheldon Miller, former Business Development Board Director at John Pye Auctions and co-founder of the Nationwide Disposals Agency.
“Last week we set out what we were building. Now we can give buyers the dates,” said Sheldon Miller. “Previews open next week so people can see the grading and lot detail for themselves before a single bid is placed and the first rolling auctions follow in August. We have taken the time to get the grading and manifests right, because that is what removes the risk buyers have lived with for years.”
The launch forms part of STOCS’ wider mission to use data to better connect surplus stock with primary demand, helping retailers recover value from excess inventory while supporting a more circular approach to retail.
Early registration is now open at bid.stocs.com, with early sign-ups entered into a prize draw to win a 100” smart TV. Those who register ahead of launch will be among the first buyers able to preview the opening lots and prepare their bids.
