BPI Commits to Net Zero by 2050 with a Comprehensive Carbon Reduction Plan

11th March 2025

BPI has officially pledged to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability with a structured Carbon Reduction Plan. This initiative positions BPI as an industry leader in environmental responsibility, focusing on reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across its operations.

To ensure measurable progress, BPI is partnering with experts to establish its baseline emissions in tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e). This data-driven approach will provide a clear benchmark for tracking reductions and identifying further sustainability opportunities.

This commitment aligns with BPI’s vision to be the go-to platform for dynamic asset disposal. By making it easier for businesses to buy and sell assets sustainably, BPI continues to drive maximum return on investment while actively supporting the circular economy.

BPI has already taken significant steps to reduce its environmental footprint, including installing solar photovoltaic panels at its Normanton Head Office and expanding recycling initiatives across its operations. Looking ahead, the company aims to achieve ISO 14001 certification by mid-2025, set definitive emission reduction targets and further cut Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.

Beyond internal efforts, BPI is committed to driving broader industry change. The company plans to:

  • Measure and communicate carbon savings for sellers using its auction services

  • Educate businesses on how auctions contribute to sustainability

  • Provide sustainability training for employees

  • Implement ethical and sustainable procurement policies

David Boulton, Managing Director of BPI, emphasised the company’s commitment:

“Sustainability is key to long-term business success. Our Net Zero pledge reflects our responsibility to the planet and our communities. Through decisive action and industry leadership, we’re not only reducing our own carbon footprint but also helping sellers embrace sustainability by auctioning their assets and supporting the circular economy.”
