BPI Asset Advisory successfully managed the sale of bakery and commercial catering equipment on behalf of Oddie’s Bakery, a well-established family-run business based in Lancashire with a legacy dating back to 1905.
After more than 120 years of serving the local community, Oddie’s faced increasing market pressures and rising operational costs. As part of a wider restructuring strategy, the business instructed BPI to coordinate the sale of surplus assets from its production facility in an effort to recover value and support future planning.
BPI oversaw the entire online auction process, from initial asset preparation and targeted marketing to final collections. The sale featured a broad selection of high-quality equipment, including Mercedes Sprinter delivery vans, industrial ovens, commercial mixers and specialist bakery production lines. Marketing efforts reached bakeries, caterers and food manufacturers across the UK.
The auction attracted strong interest, with over 400 registered bidders and total sales exceeding £300,000. BPI’s comprehensive approach ensured a smooth and professional process throughout, delivering strong returns for the client.
This strategic asset disposal not only enabled Oddie’s to realise value from unused equipment but also supported an orderly wind-down of operations. In addition, it provided businesses across the sector with access to premium machinery at competitive prices.
Andy Cromack, Director at BPI Asset Advisory, commented:
“This auction gave bakeries and food producers a unique opportunity to acquire top-tier equipment at excellent value. We’re proud to have supported the Oddie’s team through this significant transition.”
