Financial Controller Steps Up to the Board at John Pye

Nottingham headquartered national auction house, John Pye & Sons Ltd, has bolstered its Board with the appointment of Bruce Burton as a Director.

Financial Controller, Bruce Burton, joined the business in 2021, was quickly promoted to Associate Director in 2023 and will now join the seven-strong board of the independently owned auctioneer group.

A chartered accountant and an active member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Bruce oversees the running of John Pye’s finance department, including managing audit and compliance, overseeing payroll for the whole organisation and keeps a close eye on auction sales/profitability performance against KPIs.

Bruce and his team are responsible for monitoring cashflow and financing, preparing forecasts for prospective business opportunities and investments. He also heads up the procurement team, ensuring that the group selects suppliers which best align with its commercial objectives and company values.

The appointment is in recognition of Bruce’s added value to the business, his proven desire to maximise returns to the company and deliver on customer expectations.
