John Pye & Sons Expands Automotive Services with Auto Solutions 2K Investment

Nottingham-based auction house John Pye & Sons Ltd continues to strengthen its presence in the automotive sector following its acquisition of East Midlands car dismantler, Auto Solutions 2K.

Auto Solutions, a well-established vehicle recycling business, specialises in the collection and recycling of cars, vans and motorcycles. This strategic acquisition has enabled John Pye to expand its vehicle contracts business, introducing recycling solutions for vehicles unsuitable for auction. Auto Solutions, in turn, benefits from John Pye’s extensive client base and expertise in commercial sales.

Since the 2023 acquisition, John Pye has focused on enhancing Auto Solutions’ operations, investing in the site and launching a new website with features like an online shop and advanced search tools.

A significant step in improving efficiency was the introduction of an advanced online inventory system, which streamlined vehicle processing, reduced paperwork and allowed the team to prioritise operations and growth. Additional investments include hiring three new team members and expanding the vehicle fleet to boost collection capacity.

In 2023, Auto Solutions achieved VRA Certification, furthering its commitment to sustainability. General Manager Tony Patsides also joined the Vehicle Recycler Association (VRA) Committee as a board member, highlighting the company’s leadership within the sector.

Looking ahead, Auto Solutions plans to solidify its reputation as a trusted industry leader by continuing investments in people, infrastructure and machinery, while maintaining its focus on sustainability.
