Surplex Industrial Auctions Ltd were founded in Düsseldorf in 1999 by Bruno and Florian Schick, Rory Devlin and Sean Glodex with the plan of making the buying and selling of used machinery easier and faster via the creation and usage of an online market place.

After some difficult times throughout the noughties with the dot com crash and the 2008 financial crisis, the business began to flourish in the early 2010’s. Surplex begins to offer its clientele a range of services including consultation, valuation, customs and much more. Soon after Surplex became the leading German online auction house within the metal and wood processing sectors.

In 2016 the company established a new site in Switzerland and today receives more than half a million online visitors each month from over 150 countries from around the globe. Surplex offer high quality used machinery from the metal and woodworking industries ranging from older machines all the way to younger used machinery with the majority of the obtainable assets available at short notice.
