Walker Singleton

Walker Singleton is one of the auctioneers we feature regularly on the Auction News site. They can trace their roots all the way back to 1889 when John Hoyle Stead, a surveyor’s son, opened offices in Ripponden in West Yorkshire. Over the next century, the company would evolve until the merging of P.T Singleton & Son and B Walker & Co to become Walker Singleton in 1963.

The company is now a multi-disciplined business of independent chartered surveyors with offices in Leeds, Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford. From these offices across West Yorkshire, Walker Singleton provide a high-level service demanded from their clientele such as national and international blue-chip firms, financial institutions, public bodies and local authorities.

Since the 1963 merger, Walker Singleton has expanded their areas of operation to include industrial and commercial property, machinery and business assets, as well as the auctioneering of land & property.

In recent times Walker Singleton has acquired the residential business of Charnock Bates. With their head office being located in Ripponden, the entire Walker Singleton journey has come full circle, back to its original starting place.
