A large collection of metal processing and material handling equipment formerly operated by Acetech Metals Ltd is being brought to market through an online auction, offering buyers a rare chance to secure high-capacity recycling machinery.
The sale is being conducted on behalf of the company’s liquidators and a finance provider, with BPI Asset Advisory overseeing the disposal and the lots listed via the BPI auction platform.
Acetech Metals was a well-established name within the UK metals recycling sector, processing both ferrous and non-ferrous materials for reuse and export. Working from two northern sites, the business handled a wide range of materials using equipment for shredding, shearing, baling, magnetic separation and downstream processing of aluminium, tinplate and waste-to-energy ferrous streams.
More than 80 lots are included in the auction, featuring a broad selection of heavy plant and specialist machinery. Highlights include Liebherr and Fuchs material handlers, Caterpillar excavators and dump trucks, a Liebherr loading shovel, terminal tractors, heavy-duty forklifts and a Powerscreen triaxle trommel. Buyers will also find a strong selection of attachments, including grabs, shears, magnets and hydraulic breakers.
With many operators across the recycling and waste management sector facing financial pressure, this disposal presents a timely opportunity to purchase well-specified equipment that is typically difficult to source through auction.
Commenting on the sale, Luke Hartshorn, Director at BPI Asset Advisory, said interest is expected to be strong, given both the volume and quality of the assets available. He added that the machinery on offer is ideally suited to recyclers, demolition firms and contractors seeking to increase capacity with equipment designed for intensive, industrial use.
The assets are located across three sites in Scunthorpe. Due to ongoing site operations, viewings will be available by appointment only on Tuesday 20th January 2026. To book a viewing, interested parties should contact Carol Allen at BPI Asset Advisory.
The online auction closes on 22nd January 2026, find out more.
