‘Sale due to Covid-19 and the effect it has had on Theatres, Live Productions and the Entertainment Industry’

GJWisdom & Co Auctioneers have been instructed by the company's director Ian Westbrook, to arrange for the sale of the Entire Contents of ‘3D Creations Ltd’ Set Design & Build Company, due to Covid-19 and the effect it has had on Theatres, Live Productions and the Entertainment Industry.

With no new orders since March 2020, Director Mr Westbrook said the firm’s “biggest year, had become its worst”. Prior to the pandemic, 3D reations was set to create and build the set for a major Christmas-set film with an international allstar cast at Pinewood studios. Mr Westbrook, who has made props for HBO’s Game of Thrones (included in the sale) and designed arena concert sets for the likes of Iron Maiden, Robbie Williams, Westlife, Blur, Peter Gabriel and the Spice Girls, said the company would have gone bankrupt without change. "We were going to go out of business by Christmas, so I decided rather than do that, I would retire and pull the plug. Unfortunately, that meant, in June I made 10 staff redundant and gave up the lease to our workshop"

Mr Westbrook approached several Auction houses before sitting down with GJWisdom & Co Auctioneers Garry & Shane Wisdom and instructing them to handle the sale. Initially it was hoped to have a standing Auction On-site with both live & On-line bidding to really generate a local interest, but another consequence of Covid-19, meant it would not have been practical or within government guidelines to have a packed-out saleroom and it would therefore be an On-Line Timed Auction.

GJWisdom & Co & Mr Westbrook are still confident this will be a successful Auction which will appeal to all markets and buyers, both locally and UK wide. The BBC & other News Companies took the opportunity to publish news articles about the companies early exit which is hoped to provided additional interest & registrations to help the sale be a success for Mr Westbrook who deserves nothing more than to exit the industry after 35 years with panache.

There are approx 400 Lots with something for everyone. The catalogue comprises of everything from raw materials to finished set props, domestic hand tools to industrial machinery, with the contents of the design office, paint shop, sewing/rigging shack and storage units included.
